Nurturing Physical and Emotional Wellbeing Through Expert Care and Pastoral Guidance

A qualified nurse is available on campus, with basic medical provisions and first aid maintained within the boarding house at all times. In the event of a medical concern requiring specialist attention, UWA works in close coordination with a trusted hospital nearby. Students are accompanied promptly by staff, and the school and parents are informed without delay. Families can be assured that their child is never left to navigate a difficult moment alone.

The emotional wellbeing of our boarders is taken no less seriously. Our House Parents are trained to observe, listen, and respond to the emotional needs of the students in their care. They notice when a student is quieter than usual, when something seems to be weighing on a young person, and when a conversation is needed before one is asked for. Should a student require additional support, the school’s dedicated counsellor is available to work with them through any personal or emotional challenges they may face.

Students at UWA are always encouraged to speak openly, and no concern is considered too small. The expectation within the boarding house is one of mutual care, where staff and students alike look out for one another, and where every young person knows that support is never more than a conversation away.
